- Outpatient Treatment Counseling Program
Rural Family Addiction and Behavioral Health program at Catholic Social Service in Dodge City, Kansas consists of chemical dependent and co-dependent outpatient services. Services include individual counseling, group counseling, couple counseling, family counseling and relapse prevention therapy and planning.
Rural FAB Health outpatient services begins with an assessment/evaluation of need. Based on the results of the assessment/evaluation one may be referred to another mode of treatment, or referred into the outpatient treatment process at Catholic Social Service. An individualized treatment plan will be developed and the client begins participating in the treatment/counseling program based on spiritual concepts of the 12 steps with a holistic approach addressing the physical, mental, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the human being. AA, NA, SA, Al-Anon, AlAteen, are utilized for support and development of a social network for recovery outside the treatment program.
The outpatient program includes addiction education and management strategies, therapeutic process, support and relapse prevention strategies. The treatment time frame is determined by the need of the client and the client’s ability to complete the recovery tasks to sustain recovery with life on life’s terms. Upon completion of the program the client will be referred to self help groups for on going support and education.
- Assessment Diagnosis and Referral Services
Rural Family Addictions and Behavioral Health program at Catholic Social Services assesses/evaluates clients for diagnosis and level of treatment need.

Based on the results of the testing, interview, and history of client there is a level of treatment recommended to the client or agency that may have referred the client for assessment or evaluated.

- Chemical Addiction Evaluation
- Sexual Addiction Evaluation
- Co-Addiction Evaluation
Based on the diagnosis and level of treatment need a client is referred to an appropriate treatment program that can provide the most effective process for the specific client. Catholic Social Service developed a list of referral sources in the state of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, and Arizona.
- Relapse Prevention Therapy and Planning
Rural Family Addiction and Behavioral Health program at Catholic Social Service views addiction as a chronic progressive disease that has a tendency toward relapse. Relapse is defined as a process of becoming dysfunctional in recovery that ends in physical or emotional collapse, suicide, or self-medication with alcohol or drugs. Rural FAB Health relapse prevention therapy is based on the CENAPS Model of Relapse Prevention (Center of Applied Sciences developed by Terence Gorski) which incorporates the role of brain dysfunction, personality disorganization, social dysfunction and family of origin issues to the problems of recovery and relapse.
Predictable and identifiable warning signs that begin long before alcohol drug use mark the relapse process or collapse occurs. Relapse prevention therapy teaches patients to recognize and manage these warning signs so they can interrupt the relapse progression early and return to a positive progression recovery.
